1993 Toyota Camry V6 XLE. 177,000 mi. Battery would not hold a charge. Just installed a new battery and two weeks later, it completely died overnight without warning. Even the power locks didn't work! Mechanic diagnosed it as an alternator problem and replaced with new alternator. A few weeks later, battery was dead without warning in the morning, but I was able to jump start it immediately. Battery had full charge on it when it came back from the mechanic. What gives?

Draws are fairly difficult to find without the proper test equipment. Especially intermitent ones. Hook up a test light in-line between the negative cable and the battery with the doors shut and key out of the ignition. If it is lit up very bright there is a draw. All cars draw a tiny amount for stereo and PCm memory. Pull fuses until the light goes out and that is the circuit with the problem

Before you do anything check the battery no load-should read 12.4volts or better is it? Less than that we're right back to battery drain.

When all fuses are remove and light is still there, disconnect the alty-if the lite disappears better check the wiring on the alty to the ignition switch and could be the alty, but its new.

If you're using an ammeter 30ma is excessive parastic draw

Good Luck
