1999 camry v6, believe 3.0 liter, 89k miles,
when inserting the key into the ignition, the car gets power, showing in time clock on the dash, the AC coming on, lights on dashboard. But when i attempt to turn the key and start it, i hear a clicking noise.. had this problem before and all i did was wiggle the battery tie downs and it would start up... this time its not working, tried removing the battery tie downs and wiping away the white corrosion, and reattaching the ties, but still makes the clicking noise.. battery is about 4 months old. any suggestions?

Check the starter-hold key in start position and have a helper bang on the starter if it kicks over-the starter is bad. If not check the starter relay test it-if its good, check the inhibitor switch also called the neutral safety switch at the transmission-switch good you have a bad ignition switch.
