Camry Won't Start In the Morning
88 Toyota Camry All Wheel Drive
225000 Miles
4 Cyl
My car is having troubles starting in the morning. I live in California, we are in the middle of August, so it is nowhere near being cold outside. The problem only occurs on the first start of the day. All other starts are fine. In the morning, the starter is weak and weakens audibly as the engine continues to not fire till eventually the engine kicks off (after 20-40 seconds). I replaced the battery, and the problem continues. There are no warning lights and the engine runs fine once it has started. I would suspect the starter motor, but as I said the problem is very specifically only the first start of the day. It is very consistent. I would suspect the alternator, but I have no warning lights and the car runs fine once it has started. Any ideas?
