Brake lights.....refuse to go off

Hello everyone lst time poster here,have a 1999 toyota camry and my brake light will not go off,ive tried to play with the emergency brakes..ie..*up and down*...no luck :cry: ..i had to disconnect the battery just to get it to go off,someone says it may be my harness is stuck can anyone advise me how to fix this on my own?

Check the switch[ upper the brake peddle].

Hitek is right.Get down and look at the upper part of your brake pedal.When the pedal is pressed your switch circuit is closed which cause your brake lights to come on.If this switch gets stuck that would keep your brake lights on.It is the only electrical thing on the top part of your brake pedal arm
