96 Toyota Camry Multi switch wear and tear

I recently had my 96 Toyota Camry with 96,000 miles repaired. The frt cover, rt turn signal and upper tie bar(rad support) were replaced along with aiming the headlamps. Now my low beam to high beam lights do not work. My high beams stay on all the time. My turn signals both work. I believe the shop probably has caused the headllamp problem. They have told me the combo turn signal and headlamp switch located on the steering wheel has worn from age and/or use. They said it was not apart of repair. I think the may have accidentally rough housed the switch causing it to no longer work my high and low beams properly. They worked ok before the accident. They claim it is not broken, just worn from use. Is there any truth to their response?

The dimmer switch is part of a multifunction switch behind the horn pad. And unfrotunately this was no where near where they were working. If this is the problem, then it was just bad timing for it to go right after they worked on the lights.
And I doubt it could be the wiring if you hit the dimmer and the highs stay lit instead of everything going out.
Plus it's a pretty common problem because usually only one part goes first and it's always different. And it's not just on Yotas.
And if you just ask the guy nice if you can have the old part, you can be sure a new one has been replaced. If your in some doubt.
