90 camry lock cylinder and chime
I just changed my ignition lock cylinder on my 90 camry (le 2vzfe 2.5l 119,00 mi) My roomate destroyed the old one forcing the key out in the acc. position instead of using the unlock button.
Now the chime goes off even with the key out. I never actually unplugged anything behind the steering wheel. I unscrewed things from position, to get access to the button on the end of the cylinder to pull it out, but left the plugs in. And the battery was disconnected the whole time.
Did I get a defective cylinder or do you think I unplugged something and didn't notice? I'm not sure what triggers the chime when the key is in.
Could someone shed some light on this?
