I have an 89 4door Toyota Camry that was purchased used. I owned it for about a month and the engine suddenly quit on me. I had a local mechanic come out and look at it and he informed me that the engine needed to be replaced, because he thinks the valves or piston rods are shot. I was qouted anywhere from 1500 to 3000 dollars for him to put a new engine in and get the car running again. Is this a fair estimate for this to be done?
