2003 Toyota Camry Repair Question

2003 Toyota Camry gear shift knob removal
I am replacing the cover plate at the shifter which broke. I cannot figure out how to disconnect the wires to the overdrive off button to remove the shifter knob. There is a plug down below it, but the wires are attached somewhere that I cant get to.

I believe I have the same question. My console broke on my 2002 Camry and I cannot figure out how to remove the overdrive button and its wires from the gear shift knob so I can slide the new parts in. I would appreciate any help anyone can provide.
