I just changed the starter on this car and I unhooked the battery for about an hour. Everything is fine with the starting but the car wont idle. Is there a special sequence to make it idle?

The idle being low could be due to a couple things but more then likely we need to force the ECM to relearn the idle.

Here are a couple guides that will help with this issue just to get us started:

We should check the throttle bore and make sure it is not dirty. If it is then we need to clean it. Here is a guide that will help with doing this:

If none of this works let's try this process to try and trick the ECM into relearning the idle.

†Remove EFI and ECTS fuse in under hood fuse box for 3 minutes
†Reinstall both fuses
†Hold the throttle plate close completely with your finger
†Have someone turn ignition switch ON
†Release throttle as soon ignition is ON
†Reinstall throttle body boot, start engine and let run at idle for 5 minutes before road test

Idle speed should be between 550 and 650 RPM's

Let us know what you find. Thanks
