Good Morning,

I have a 2000 4 cyl Camry that I purchased new. I just had my 100000 mile service done which included a timing belt. The mechanic called to tell me that the oil seals on the oil pump were failing and the pump needed to be replaced. Is this "normal"? How involved is it and how much should I expect to pay for such a service? Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

It can be expensive if the engine has to come out. I haveseen a few bad seals but not that many. If the pan can be removed without the engine coming out probably about $500. Double that if the engine has to come out. Those are Mississippi prices. Good Luck

Thank you Lee - I was quoted $642.00 out the door so that's in-line. They said they can do it without removing the engine. That also includes new timing belts.
