After I drove my car I parked it for an hour and when I started it, it ran really rough. It wanted to surge forward and it sounded like an old 70’s beater car, making a, "bump a bump a bump a bump" sound.

I took it to the shop and the engine scan had PO305, engine misfire and PO135, faulty bank 1 O2 sensor heat failure. Their road test had no engine problem and they replaced an O2 sensor.

When I got it back it ran fine a few days. Yesterday, after I drove it somewhere I got in to start it and the engine sound and vibration came back. I drove it home about 5 miles and it seemed as if it didn’t have much power. This morning I started it and it was fine.
So it seems to happen once the engine is warmed up. The engine is a 1MZ-FE.

Could it be the IAC valve?

Thanks

Ok I would check the spark plug and plug wire to number 5 cylinder as that is what the P0305 code is it is a number 5 cylinder missfire why is it missfiring? This is what we need to find out. So if you have a digital multi meter we can run a couple of test to see if we can figure that out.

Ok first off I would like you to pull off the number 5 spark plug wire and measure the amount of resistance in ohms. It should not be over 25000 ohms.
