According to the previous owner, the front right strout was squeaking and not installed correctly by an auto shop. The local Toyota dealership found the assembly was not done correctly and want to replace strout, CV boot, and others. How difficult is it to DIY? Should I replace both in the front instead of right only? Thanks for the advice.

You can do this yourself, you will need some basic tools and a sping compressor, the axle is easy pull a ball joint bolt out and pull the knucle out and away from the ball joint next you will need to remove the large nut on the axle, then move the knucle out of the way pushing axle stub through the rotor once the axle is free you can take a prybar go behind the inner joint at the transmission and pop it out and wahlah that part is done, the struts are pulled as an assembly remove upper blots at the strut tower (3) remove lower bolts and pull it out, now you need the spring compressor to compress the spring, once compressed take the strut plate nut off pull the spring off and replace the strut and reverse to install, need any other help or if I wasnt clear let me know, the axle socket is 32or 36 mm

thanks jim
