1994 Toyota Camry whats to much money for a computer to be

1994 Toyota Camry 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i recently put my car into the shop and was told the computer was bad and its gonna cost me 1250 to replace it does this seem right or should I investigate into this more

Hi Steve,

It sounds a little high but not much. The computer you can purchase yourself for about $450. The shop will charge you about $700 or more for it plus labor to install. And since I believe it is located behind the Passenger Kick Panel it is very easy to replace. The only thing is that you may need to take it to a Toyota Dealer to have it programmed. And in order to make sure you get the right computer you will need to numbers off the old one.
