i have a 93 toyota 4runner 4x4 V6 with about 160,000 miles on it. it makes a very fast clicking sound when i try to start it. i am pretty sure it's the starter, but am not sure. how do i determine if this is indeed the problem and how would i go about fixing it myself to save some money

Check the battery and its connections also at the starter. might be the starter relay failing or the ignition switch.

It sounds like your battery is low. Turn the headlights on then try to crank it, please check this video. https://www.2carpros.com/video.htm
