I am having an issue when I try and start when the engine is cold. I have to pump the accelerater pedal four or five times for the engine to turn over and start. It is fuel injected. Once it is running it is sluggish at first until I give it more gas. While this is going on a cloud of smoke comes from the exhaust. After about 15 seconds the truck runs fine with no problems or loss of power. It will start without problems after the engine has been running/driving for a while. Any advice? Thanks

When was the last tune-up? Do you have a check engine light.

Inspect and test the coolant temperaturre, throttle positon and mass airflow sensors-to include idle air control valve.
