I had touch up paint applied to an area that needed it. Is that fairly permenant? Will it wear off in time? If so in how much time? Or is the touch up paint similar to all other paint in that it will stay on?

PS it was real car paint that was used. Not a lesser quality.

I never heard of a paint that was not permanent. As with any paint of any quality, it adheres based on the surface prep. None will stick to oil, wax, or products containing silicone. Regular car paint is applied over layers of sealers and primers. That's what body shops do to produce superior results. Touch up paint in little bottles are designed to work on small areas without needing separate primer applied first.
