Hi my partner and I were just driving home. When, As we were driving slowly (15mph) over a traffic calming hump? We heard a very loud bang soumd from the front of the car. We stopped to check under the car but could see nothing wrong? We drove on and could'nt detect any changes in performance, handling or ride? However? When turning the steering wheel to the left as we parked up, we heard a couple of deep thumping sounds (metal on metal?)
I do not have a servicable torch (flashlight) either in the car or at home? Because apparently my partner has left them both at her place of work! And we live on a dimly lit rural road. So when I tried to look for damage etc? All that I can see is black on blacker darkness? I have to be at work in the early a.M. So have you got any ideas please? Because I'd really rather not experience the front end of the car falling off!
I know this is an obscure one guys? And a bit of a shot in the dark etc! But any advice or suggestions that you can offer me would be really apreciated thank you.
P.S.

I'm sorry that I can't donate to you but I am stretched financially and do'nt get my paycheck till the end of the month

It's not necessarily obscure but it will be impossible to determine the failure without a thorough examination by a professional and I certainly would not drive it at all in the meantime. Have it towed to a reputable shop.
