2004 Suzuki Forenza Repair Question

2004 Suzuki Forenza timing
Engine Mechanical problem
2004 Suzuki Forenza 4 cyl
i just replace the engine in a 2004 suzuki forenza when i start it up it runs rough for about 3 or 4 seconds then shuts of.Or if i hit the gas pedal it shuts off immediatly.i changed the throttle body and the crank sensor and engine coil and the fuel regulator and the plugs.I checked the fuel pump and the injectors to make sure it has the proper gas flow.someone told me it is off timing.i know the engine is good.So my quetion is could this be a result of it being off timing and if not do you have any idea of what it could be.and it wont idle the rpms never go near 1.
