Suspected water leak into Nissan Maxima ECU

After cleaning the floors of my Maxima using a wet vacuum, the car won't start. Can water have possibly gotten into my ECU? Is it really that easy for water to have seeped into there?

I would not think that by steam cleaning the carpets the ECU would be affected in that way, cars have the carpets cleaned in this manner every day, have you checked for any set fault codes yet? Do a scan first.
