MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT

2005 Subaru XT

Computer problem
2005 Subaru XT 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 88000 miles

TWO WEEKS AGO PURCHASED PETROL AND DRIVING ABOUT 10 KM THE MALFUNCTION IDICATOR LIGHT(ORANGE) CAME ON AND THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT(GREEN) STARTED TO FLASH. HAD THE CAR SERVICED THE NEXT DAY AND IT WAS SUGGESTED 'MAY GOT A BAD LOT OF FUEL'. IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO DRIVE UNTIL NEARLY EMPTY AND TOP UP THE TANK (ALWAYS USED 90% OCTANE). LAST WEEK FULL THE TANK AND AFTER DRIVING A FEW KM THE WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS WORKING AGAIN. HOWEVER SINCE THAT TIME THE WARNING AND CRUISE CONTROL FLASHING LIGHT COME ON AGAIN AND AFTER A DAY OR TWO OFF AGAIN. HAD IR CHECKED BY AN ANILYSER WHICH INDICATED THE SENSOR AT THE AUXILLARY AIRPUMP FOR THE TURBO IS SHOWING A MULFUNTION. HAVE YOU HAD ANY SIMILAR REPORTS AND DOES IT MEAN SERVICING THE AIRPUMP AND REPLACING THE SENSOR WILL SOVE THE PROBLEM
