Why does my car overheat?

I have a 1983 Subaru GL Turbo 10 with 173,00 miles on it. It overheats and loses power going uphill. I changed the thermostat and radiator cap, but I can't find any water leak, but I lose water and can't find where it is coming from. I replaced the intake gaskets, and put in new plugs and wires, plus rotor and cap.

You probably have a head gasket leaking. Is there any smoke coming out of your exhaust? It would most likely be noticeable on take-off after idling for a while.
