I have a 1990 Subaru Justy EFI 1.2LT The problem I am having is that I have no heat. It just blows cold air. The gauge inside the car goes up to 3/4 the way to hot. I have changed the thermostst with no difference. I HAVE ALSO HAVE CHANGED THE ANTIFREZE IT IS GOOD TILL -37C. The ENGINE SEEMS TO BE GETTING HOT YET THE RADS TOP AND BOTTOM HOSES ARE COLD. WHAT ARE SOME THINGS I COULD CHECK? Thank for your response[ :D I have just finshed reinstalling the rad. After I had it cleaned.I refilled the rad. And let it run.I had the same problem. Let it cool downand topped up the rad and side bottle again. Still no heat and the engine getting close to overheating again.I did this 2 more times. This time finally I got heat and the temp has gone back to normal. I think the system must of had an air lock anyways It is running great. Tought I would let you know. Allan

Disconnect the heater hoses under the hood where they attach to the core, Hold your garden hose to the outlet tube hold on tight with a rag then have someone crank the hose to full blast till the water runs out the other tube free and clear, I've never had this not work. (Assuming the thermostst is good and high enough temp rating. I use 195 deg. In all my Subaru's.
