Subaru Other Repair Question
Hard to change down through gears
Answer
Sounds like you may have a slightly bent clutch disc from the engine install or when it was swapped over to the new engine
thanks you dont think it could be enything esle, and when you say clutch disc is that the flywheel as i have also had a new clutch kit fitted.regards
If the disc and pressure plate arent tightened properly, it will be slightly warped, causing problems
my garage phone me today got a slight crack in the flywheel and a crack on the clutch got to buy new clutch again and a flywheel only just had a new clutch cannot believe it it must be something they done themselfs when fitting engine.i will now have to pay them again gutted but not knowing enything much about engines what can i say to them they have also told me i got to get another clutch servo for the gear box all of this they say is the problem with changing through the gears but did not have eny of these problems what so ever before they changed engine think they are taking me for a ride buggers
Sounds like they are trying to get you. They most likely cracked the disc on istallation, but not too sure about the flywheel, they are pretty hard to crack unless it is from heat or alot of horsepower. Not sure if your Subaru has that kind of steam (no offense). Go to them and tell them you want to see the cracked flywheel. I suggest you look for another shop, they should be taking care of the clutch, on them
