Hard to change down through gears

Hi i have a 2 lt turbo 93 subaru impreza wrx just had a recondition engine put in but having drove it for half an hour noticed it was getting harder to change down through the gears took it back to garage they noticed that the clutch servo was leaking so they replaced it with a new one.but the problem is still there but not as bad.with the engine turned off you can change through the gears perfect soon as you start engine its a different storie it will not go into reverse but if you pop it into 4th then put it back into reverse it goes in good changing up through the gears is good but changing down through gears is a nightmere you have to really force it in.took it back to garage they said try it for a couple of days bring it back and they will bleed it but shoudnt they have done this the first time every time i bring my car to them they are charging me before i took my car to them to change engine i had no problems what so ever with the gear change and after paying them over £800 my car is still not right regards shamus

Sounds like you may have a slightly bent clutch disc from the engine install or when it was swapped over to the new engine

If the disc and pressure plate arent tightened properly, it will be slightly warped, causing problems

Sounds like they are trying to get you. They most likely cracked the disc on istallation, but not too sure about the flywheel, they are pretty hard to crack unless it is from heat or alot of horsepower. Not sure if your Subaru has that kind of steam (no offense). Go to them and tell them you want to see the cracked flywheel. I suggest you look for another shop, they should be taking care of the clutch, on them
