97 GTB INTERMITTANT MISS AT 2500RPMS

2012 Subaru Other

Hi I have a 97 GTB legacy, it's done 157000kms and is a 2litre engine. 5sp manual

Has been recently serviced and had new spark plugs and fuel filter fitted and has just developed an intermittant miss when cruising at about 2500 revs. Have been advised it could be the air flow meter. How can I test this without taking to a mechanic? What other problems could this be? Will the car be damaged if I take it on a long journey to get fixed?

All help greatley appreciated!
Cheers : D

96' and up is all OBDII. Need scanner, scope and knowledge of engine performance/emission repair to nail down the misfire. Best bet is pay a shop who is competent for misfire engine performance diagnostic. Shouldn't cost u more than $200.
U pay more in a doctor office than this. Being a mechanic is more than a few fancy toys.
Good luck man
