2000 Subaru Impreza Wagon squeaky rear door

I have a 2000 subaru impreza wagon with 42,000 miles on it.

The rear hatchback door squeaks a bit and seems loose. The 2 rubber stoppers on each side of the door are still there and the coresponding rubber that they meet on the body when the door closes are still intact. I see no way to adjust these stoppers. Is there something else that could be causing the door to be slightly loose and squeak?

Squeaks, pings, taps, and other noises can drive you nuts. Trying to isolate them can be just as confusing. Maybe you might want to check the shocks or shock mounts to ensure they are tight.
