Am looking to buy a nice 1999 Outback. It has a broken sway bar. Owner said it happened 3 years ago, mechanic told him it was probably bad metal, and that he didn't need to fix it. The car is an automatic w/138000 miles on it and all repair records, one owner car. Is this a big repair? Expensive? What if we don't get it fixed?
