Thank you for the response to my initial question, but based on your reply, I think my question was misleading. The antifreeze is evaporating (or leaking) from the reservoir, not from the radiator. And the smoke is coming from under the hood and wheel-well, not from the exhaust. Could this be from a broken hose or damaged belt? Also, the small fan under the hood is not turning when the car is idleing. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Have the cooling system pressure tested for leaks, this will show any ones that are too small to notice right away. How hot does it get without the fans coming on?

Thank you for your reply. In response to your question; The gage does not indicate the car is running hot. The gage stays on line between hot and cold.
