Electrical problem
1998 Subaru Legacy 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

Car was bought used two and a half months ago. Coil-Igniter was the wrong one and the plug wires were jerry rigged but car ran good. After driving it for a month check engine light came on. Code check said cylinder #2 not firing. Replaced Coil-Igniter with correct one and new plug wires. Now code check is reading #3 cylinder not firing. I get no spark out of the Coil-Igniter for the #3 cylinder. After replacing parts I thought maybe got a bad spark plug wire so I replaced #3 with old wire, started car and it ran right. Turned it off and it went back to not firing in #3. I'm baffled, need help!

A misfire on a specific cylinder should prompt you to check the sparkplug, compression and injector for that cylinder

I found out that it was a bad wire connection going to the Coil-Igniter.
