1997 Subaru Legacy muffler system

Why did one exhaust pipe cost 70.00 (AP38484) and the other (AP58376) cost 285.00? I don't trust this chain muffler company. The guy told me the more expensive pipe has an extra piece on it

Hi, usually the more expensive one may have a catalytic converter, already on it. Or it may have what is called a "resonator" on it which is somewhat like a muffler. But dont be afraid to ask them anything you wish, you are buying they're product and keeping them employed, always remember that. Any other questions please let me know
