My car has trouble starting in the morning, just in general has trouble starting. The glowplug light does not come on the dash even if cold. I have changed the glowplugs, the the temp sensor. When the temp sensor is disconnected the car will star first time. But connected will not.

The glowplugs do not operate until it is extremely cold. These engines start fine without them most of the time. Mine used to start better in sub zero weather than it did in milder weather. The starter motors can be a bit troublesome due to contamination from particles from the flywheel. Mine seemed to spin over ok and I was a bit at a loss, I figured the battery was the original (7 year old Varta), was about to go on honeymoon so I changed it on spec. Car now starts really quickly whatever the weather. (Had already replaced spill pipes).

Good Luck
