I would to bypass the compressor with a shorter serpentine belt. My question is - would it damage anything if I got one and put it on? Also, what size (length) it would take to accomplish this
I have an 1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V6 - 4.0L vin E 245ci - MFI GAS SOHC.

Hey MM.

It's not going to damage anything you can leave the current one on as long a clutch is okay and not locked up and won't engage or if it does then disconnect the clutch wire leading to compressor. For the belt just go to the auto parts store and order one for a car like your without AC.
