Hey guys I have been right in the past but now I am stumped. My battery light keeps coming on and going out. I have recently the battery replaced as the CCA where down after replacing it two years early. With the battery under warranty we found the incorrect battery was put in. I had it replaced under warranty with the correct one. Now the battery light comes on when you start it. If you turn the car off then restart it the light goes out. I replaced the OEM terminal conncetors as they were the flat ones but not corroded with the old style thinking that maybe the conncetion was bad. That seemed to work but now it comes on and goes out again. When it comes on during driving it goes out after a short time. Any clue as to what is causing this light to come on? I have had the electrical chargin system checked twic and both times I am told the alternator is charging to the maximum but yet the light keeps coming on. Help. Is there a sensore for this that can go bad? Thank you.

Do you have a multimeter? You will have to check the voltage at the battery while the light is on that way you can see if it's a charging issue or just a light issue.

When the battery light is on put the meter on dc scale you should see with the car idling 13 something to 14 something.

Ok, put the multimeter on it when the battery light is on and it read 14 something. Any clue as to why the battery light is on now as I am really stumpped. Have ahd no problems with the battery or starting the car since new battery put in yet the light still comes on. Is there a sensor somewhere that could be going bad?

I emailed you the trouble tree for battery light on you can see that you need a Tech2 scan tool with the saturn software to diagnose why your battery light stay's on sometimes even though your alternator is charging. Your better off at this point to take it to the dealer since the tech2 is thousand's of dollar's to buy.
