I took my car to a shop and thought that the motor mounts were bad I told them there was a thud as I drove forward but the it stopped/ Any way I was taken for 535.00 and the problem still was not fixed so now I am trouble shooting to see if maybe it is a minor problem. I was told by the mechanic that it was OK to drive the car for a while like that. I felt like I had stupid written across my forehead.

I originally had tires and brakes replaced over thousand dollars started driving it and all of a sudden I started hearing a clunk that I did NOT have before the tires and brakes were replaced. I would drive the car and when it turned I would notice a clunk as I was shifting into first gear. I was told by a clients son that he thought it was the motor mounts. I quit driving it. I had no more money to fix it. It got cold in FL this year and although it sat in the garqge when I tried to start it it would not start. I replaced the battery and it starts again. I took it to another mechanic different from the brakes and told them I thought it might be a motor mount. The garage agreed with me and told me they replaced all of the 4 I believe. I still have the same clunk and then I was told it might be the tranmission but I could keep driving it for a while like this. I took the car back home and it has sat in the garage because I have to save up to get it fixed.

If your hearing it while you turn I would check the lower control arm bolt's especially if your hearing while turning in a parking lot like your getting into a spot. Also check all your sub frame bolt's and all your suspension bolt's.
