Having problems shifting the car out of Park lately. Don't know if it related to the cold, the shifter or the brakes (need to have brake applied to take out of Park). Sometimes I have to struggle with it until it finall goes other days it just goes right away.

I totally disagree with that answer a bad bitsi cable highly unlikely I have worked for saturn as a factory trained tech over 16yrs and only replaced bitsi cables for being broken or the pin on the cable end that goes into the ignition housing becaomes bent and I cant get it straight enough.I have seen tons of those cables miss adjusted though there was a campaign where we adjusted them on the 1997's but have seen tons of 1995 1996 years out of adjustment as well. Usually causes a key will only turn back to the acc position. Most common reason for shifter wont come out of park is a failed shift lock solenoid or the bitsi lever on the shifter assembly is gummed up with coffee soda etc. But have seen some bisti cables out of adjustment cause the shifter to not come out of park. Most of the cables came out of the factory miss adjusted for many years the adjustment of the cable is usually over looked even by saturn techs I should know I worked with them lol.
