One of the shifting cables became detached from the shifting lever due to the "grommett" type device that holds the cable to the shifting lever splitting. I went to the dealership and they said that SATURN does not break down the cable components and I would have to purchase a whole new cable for around $120. Is there any place I can find just the "grommett" or any substitution I can make to repair the problem?

Those parts are type specific to the vehicle. I havent seen any aftermarket pieces for the shift cable. Yopu may be stuck buying the entire cable, unless you can find one a little cheaper at a salvage yard
