Electrical problem
1993 Saturn SL2 4 cyl Automatic 58,000 miles

My car will not crank. The battery was cked...getting a 12.5 reading. Connections are good...fuses are good. When u try to start...nothing...no noise. My lights did not dim either. The lights came on the dashboard when I turned the key. I have heard several different things. I have heard it might be the starter (no clicking noise), it might be the starter relay, or neutral safety switch (was wiggled in park and neutral with key on, did not start) I have been told maybe the ignition switch...(altho someone said if it was that, the key would be hard to turn or u couldn't turn it) I do not have that problem...key turns just fine. Do u have any suggestions? I know it is a process of elimination. Thanks for your help!!

Hi, What Needs to Be checked Is the starter, To see if there is power there when you turn the key to crank. On the saturn, this will be difficult without a lift. Cause the starter is up under the intake manifold. In order to check if power is there, you need a test light, ground the alligator clip to a good ground, or metal part of car, then locate starter, put probe of test light to smaller wire on starter, and have someone crank the engine as your doing this. If the test light lights on that small wire. Then it's time for a starter.

Hope This Helps You,
Good Luck
