I have a 2002 Saturn SL1 and am having problems with it. It just started today and I am hearing like a ticking/knocking noise coming from my engine. I am not even 200 miles over due for a oil change so I wouldnt think that would be it. Any suggestions what it could be? It is really loud when I idle and when I acclerate it seems to quite down.

If ur using oil then when u change ur oil try putting in 3 quarts of oil and one quart of Lucas oil treatment that will help with ur oil burning and ur lifter clicking. As far as ur air bag light comming on and not staying on sounds like u have a intermintant problem with ur air bag system or it would stay on all the time if it wasn't intermintant. The only way I could even start to help u with ur air bag light is if u got me the air bag code numbers.

Where do I find the air bag number? Another question is regarding my transmission? It happens when I go up a hill or even trying to merge onto the freeway. My speed will be 40-45mph and when I hit the gas my rpm goes up but my speed stays the same. This happens sometimes but not all the time. I took it up and they ran a test but no codes came back as if my trans was slipping. Any suggestions? Why would I have air bubbles in my trans fluid?

U would have to go some where that has a code reader that can read air bag codes on ur car. Also on ur transmission if it slips it will set a code for that gear. Also if u have code reader that can read transmission adaptives report in the slip monitor section it would read a number above 0 meaning it was slipping in that gear. Let me know what u find.
