Is it easiest to get to the fuel filter from under the car? Must you clamp off the line as you detach it from filter? How do you get the tail end of it off the metal tube?

The easiest way to change that filter is from the top if u go from the bottom u will get a face full of gas. First take out the air box thats attached to ur throttle body. When the engine is cold u can reach ur hand done to the line on the filter squeese the two little plastic tabs in then pull the line off. The line going to the fuel rail takes a release tool. The filters usually come with one if it doesnt then u will have to buy a gm fuel line disconnect tool.U take the small end of the tool and snap that on with it towards the filter hose then bring the tool towards the line and push the line into the tool and then line should come off. Then take a 1/4" drive 10mm deep socket with a 1/4" drive rachet and loosen the nut on the fuel filter clamp holding the filter. Back the nut almost all the off then u can slide the old filter out. Now put the new filter and the line to the fuel rail just snaps in no special tools. Make sure u hear a click then give it a couple of tugs to make sure its on. Do that to the bottom one as well. Let me know how it goes.
