My '97 Geo Metro at 60 miles per hour has rmp's of 3500 is this normal or too high.

I think that it could be right have it ever been like that or started because most older cars at 70MPH are going 3000rpm but is the transmision auto or manual because it could be two things the rpm cable or the trany dosent whant to put fourth gear or third forgott how many gears it has
