2002 Saturn L300 Gasoline smell

2002 Saturn L300 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 86000 miles
There is a strong raw gasoline smell around the outside rear of the car when parked. There are no wet spots on the driveway or anywhere on the underside of the car that I can see. All I have done so far is to replace the gas filler cap. What could be causing this and how urgent is it to correct?
