2004 Saturn Ion BLOWN ENGINE REPLACEMENT

2004 Saturn Ion 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 96000 miles
I'm in the process of buying a used 2.2 liter saturn ion 2 engine, VIN"F" (eighth digit), opt. L61 to replace the blown engine now in my Ion. All the replacement marketers ask if the exhaust manifold is drilled & tapped for an air check valve and also if the head has an EGR port so they can match the engine. Would you have any specifics or info on this. Where would I look on my old engine so I don't by a new one that isn't correct? thank you , Bill Z.
