2003 Saturn Ion 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I actually have two questions. First I cant find where to check the transmission fluid. It is an Ion3 2.2 engine. Looked under the hood and can't find a dip stick for trans. Also installed a new battery but the car sometimes wont start. It will start to turn over then just stops(no power) if you try a few times it wont start. Walk away and come back 15 minutes later it starts? HELP!

Theres a yellow dipstick down low bellow about where the upper hose is striaght down its bolted down. Check it hot level ground idling in park.U change it every 50,000 miles. Ur starting concern u need to have ur body control module scanned for codes if u have a b2960 and or b3033 then replaced the ignition switch. Pretty common especially starting concerns in cold weather. There cheap and easy to fix. Let me know how it goes.
