After I had a new starter and battery installed, the oil light in the dash stays on when I turn off the engine. The cigarette lighter is on constantly also. So far I haven't had any other problems, but I would like those functions to turn off as they did before this installation.
I've already checked the fuses and I had a replace two, but the light is still on.
How do I solve this problem?
Thank You.

Hi divalink,

Thank you for the donation.

When ignition is turned off, there should be no power to oil light and when it shows, it indicates a bad ground connection between the engine and body and/or battery. This would result in current using the oil switch as a grounding to complete a circuit.
I would suggest checking for loose or inefficient body grounding circuits.
