Hello,

I have a 2010 Honda Odyssey EX and I noticed that the black-colored rubber molding on the two sliding doors are damaged. For the right door, it is also rusting (picture attached). What is the best way to go about fixing this problem? Do I need to take it to a body shop?

Please help. Thanks!

You may want too take it to a body shop and get an estimate. It's kind of hard to see how badly rusted. It may be a chance you might come out better finding a used door assembly and having it sprayed.

Is the door rusted at all, or just the molding damaged ?

There are some traces of rust on the door right underneath the rubber molding. It seems like there is very little rust on the door. The rust seems like it is coming from some metal inside the rubber. I am not sure whether that metal is actually part of the door, but I am worried that the rust might spread to the door. The mileage on the car is approximately 20,800 miles, and I don't think warranty covers it since we bought it used. Would a body shop be able to fix it? Can I order the rubber from Honda and take it to a mechanic? What do you recommend?

I would have it looked at by a bodyshop . They can tell you what is needed. You can even go to the dealer just to get an idea of what you're up against. If its just the molding you might be able to go on line and find it cheaper. You might can even find some tips on how to install it yourself .
