I need you to first check the fuel pump pressure when it is cold. See if it is within the manufacturer's specs. Many times the fuel pump is what I call a Lazy pump. In other words, it doesn't have the pressure to start the car, but will keep it running after it starts. However, the fact that you see black smoke from it indicates it is getting too much fuel. You may have a bad fuel pressure regulator too. Check that and let me know what you find.
