Timingbelt
Hi guys,
my wife and i are living in france for ayear and bought a 2001 renault scenic 1.6 petrol that has now 110000km on the clock . we always had the normal service done by various renault garages but now our new garage tells us that we need to change the timingbelt at the cost of $1380. does that sound expensive? do you really need to change the belt? we will be using the car for another 8 month before movin back to oz driving aprox 40 km a day? thanking you in advance for your answers regards fritz. by the way this is a great website i am glad that i found it

manufacturers recommend timing belt change at 65000 miles .. if it breaks it damage the engine !
