1996 Renault Megane cat

Hi I have a renault megane 1.6 rxe that failed the mot on emissions. I was told by 2 diffrent garages that it was the cat at fault. However I have bought a new cat which does not fit and changed it for another which also does not fit. I have had a fault code reader test done and it cant find any faults either any idea as to what I can do.

You need to return the CAT to the exhaust shop and exchange for one that does indeed fit !! they should have diagrams of all CAT's fitted to the megane range of cars to match your's up ?
