Transmission problem
1998 Pontiac Trans Am V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic
auto shifter side button is hard to depress in cold weather...has been diffiicult many times, but always able previously to shift from park once button was depressed. finally button depressed and felt like something internally broke...now won't shift from Park. Is likely solution the shifter handle...if so, how do I remove and replace? Also saw where someone else had similar problem on an 02 TA and stated a nylon rod down the shifter column was too flexible and allowing binding to occur...drilled out and inserted steel rod to reinforce, which worked. What do you recommend?
