1991 Pontiac Sunbird check engine light

Not really sure whats going on. Just took my car to a mechanic and he says there is nothing wrong, all though driving home I noticed that the check engine light is coming back on when I turn left and when I turn on the air/heat. I know that light is coming on for some reason but I cant seem to find a straight answer
