1989 Pontiac Grandam, 285,250 miles and hopefully still going. Hello, this is a friends car and I am trying to do him a favor by getting it to run again but I am stumped. I consider myself to be an amateur mechanic so it doesn't come as a surprise to me. I have checked to see if I am getting spark and I am, I am also getting plenty of fuel but the car simply will not start. It turns over just fine and is getting plenty of compression. I have been told it is possibly the ignition module. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

according to your post and what you have checked, I would definitely replace the ignition module.

Your getting spark, fuel and compression. That is all that is needed if they get coordinated correctly. I'm no expert, but doesn't that sound like timing?
